TINY ROOM FOR ELEPHANTS

Everything You Need To Know

Tiny Room For Elephants is a network of creatives that fuses art and music with one goal in mind: to create, document, and share culture.

Over the past five years, Tiny Room for Elephants has evolved into:

  • TRFE CURATES: A pipeline between brands/organizations and undiscovered talent to curate a custom look, feel and experience

  • TRFE FESTIVAL: A city festival experience with direct access to artists and musicians

  • TRFE @ STUDIO 14: A studio/gallery space that offers creatives opportunities for collaboration across multiple disciplines

TRFE CURATES

Tiny Room for Elephants has a history of connecting brands and organizations with artists of all mediums for all kinds of creative projects.

TRFE takes pride in taking the "load off" by managing entire projects from concept to completion. This looks like (but is not limited to):

  • Sourcing and managing several artists simultaneously

  • Drafting artists contracts

  • Setting timelines

  • Communicating needs with building staff/operations manager

  • Collecting renderings and revisions in a timely manner

  • Managing budgets (artist stipends & supplies)

  • Providing status reports

  • Documenting the process (photos/video)

  • Concepting/designing activations

TRFE CURATES PARTNERs

CHAMPION

When the sports apparel brand opened their stand alone retail location in Philadelphia, they reached out to TRFE to curate the store with work from local artists, concept a design for Philly 'centric' Tshirt's/tote bags, manage influencer lists and activate the soft launch party.

SONY AUDIO

The brand wanted to create "instagrammable" murals at select music venues in PHL, NY, CHI & LA. They tapped TRFE to source artists in each city and manage the entire process as the liaison between SONY, the venues and the artists from concept to install.

PHILADELPHIA WEEKLY

Under new management, the alt-weekly's new owners had a goal of getting the old newspaper honor boxes off the streets and refurbishing them. They approached TRFE to kick off the PW Honor Box Project and vet local artists to lovingly restore the boxes and give them a second life.

TRFE FESTIVAL

"The thing is, TRFE [Festival] isn’t easily boiled down to a digestible sound bite; it encompasses so much and is experienced in different ways by everyone involved. ‘Experience’ is the key word here because TRFE is an event that has to be experienced in order to have some idea about what it is for you." -Tim McFarlane, TRFE19 Festival Artist

At its core, Tiny Room for Elephants Festival is a living art “gallery” that incorporates styles and mediums of nearly 30 Philadelphia artists. Each April, TRFE invites artists to paint and install collectively, in the same space over a 10 day period, to a live soundtrack curated by the city's most talented DJs/Producers.

The community is welcome to come witness the construction of the "gallery" and are encouraged to connect with local makers and see the creative process first hand. After painting/installations are complete, TRFE celebrates the works over 3 days with live music, DJs, producers, panel discussions, and interactive elements.

Each moment, from construct to the final festival day is documented to preserve the moments and to share via social channels. Each fan that follows along feels vested in the project, as they have watched from the very beginning. This transparency and interactive approach is a driver of fans (12,000+ in 2019) to the fest.
